The 6th Grade Committee has many activities planned for YOU! We want to celebrate your final year at Ogden with many events and activities that will help make your 6th grade year more memorable. This site will be updated with specific details throughout the year as we get closer to each event date.
We Need Your Baby Pictures!
One fun section of the yearbook each year is a compilation of baby pictures of the out-going 6th graders. We need your help collecting these pictures. Please submit a digital picture or digital scan of your 6th grader’s baby picture (age 1 and under) to the email address below. If you don’t have a digital copy to send, you can still submit hard copies of pictures. Here’s what you do:
1. For digital copies - send a message with this info in the subject
line: Child’s Full Name and Teacher. (ie. Joey Smith - Mrs. Jones) to:
Ogdenyearbook.photos@picasaweb.com.
2. For hard copies - Please put child’s name and teacher on the back
and submit it in an envelope marked “6th Grade Baby Pic” to the Yearbook basket in the office.
Deadline for all pictures is Friday February 10.
If you wish to work at the Ogden Store, Bake Sales, or other 6th Grade Events, please complete the permission slip required for the particular event.
Event listings and permission slips will appear below as they become available:
The 6th graders are invited to join us at the Corral, located at LTHS South Campus on Tuesday, May 31st from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. This event is sponsored by the PTC. Students will not be able to enter or leave the building without checking in or checking out with adult leaders at a registration desk.
All students must turn in a permission slip AND a Code of Conduct form, which has been read and signed by both parent and student. Your Code of Conduct form must be brought to the event - it is your ticket!
A Mini-Quiz Night will now be a part of the End of the Year Party on May 31st. Tell those kids to study up on their trivia!

Every year the 6th graders are involved with a service project that will assist in benefiting an underprivileged or disadvantaged community and help to show the importance of charity and giving of ourselves.
This year, the service project will take on a local focus, as we will work to help some local families who are in need of some basic necessities. These families have been identified through the La Grange CEP Youth Leadership Organization and the families will remain anonymous to the children. CEP will receive our charitable gift and present it to the families on behalf of the children.
Should you have any additional questions on this year's service project, please feel free to contact Dawn Aubert. Additional information will be coming post our first planning meeting.
Each year, the 6th graders present Ogden with a Class Gift using money that they have raised throughout the year.
During the last week of April, artist James Connolly will visit the Ogden 6th graders to talk about and present 6 pieces of beautiful glass art for the kids to choose from. The kids will vote on their favorite piece to present to Ogden.
This piece is not to be confused with the Legacy Project.

A 6th Grade Breakfast will be held during the last hour of the school year on June 6, 2011. This special event is co-sponsered by Ogden PTC and the 6th grade fundraising efforts throughout the school year.

The Yearbook Committee is looking for original themes for the 2011-12 yearbook and we'd like your help. A yearbook theme is a common thread that ties all elements of the book and the year together. A theme can be a word, phrase or expression. We want your yearbook theme to be a statement or idea that best embodies what makes Ogden special. It should:
Here are some questions to help you come up with clever and fun theme ideas:
Please submit all theme suggestions and ideas with your parents’ permission by going to the Ogden PTC website and filling out the form here no later than October 22. You can list as many theme suggestions/ideas as you want. Feel free to collaborate with friends. If your idea or theme is used, you will be credited in the 2011-12 yearbook.
Good luck!

Each year, the students help to create their own legacy by leaving behind a beautiful project or piece of art. This year, the 6th graders will be helping to finish the garden stepping stones with the help of Mrs. Horyn, members of the Garden Committee and volunteers. This will be started in April, when the weather turns warm.
The Legacy Project is separate from the class gift.
